Home appliances refer to various electrical appliances used in homes and similar places, also known as civil appliances and daily appliances. The home appliance industry is one of the important downstream steel industries for steel. Some steels that can meet the requirements of home appliance materials with performance and material are collectively referred to as home appliance steel. The steel products mainly include cold plate, hot-dip galvanized steel, electro-galvanized steel, color-coated steel, galvanized steel, hot-rolled pickling steel, stainless steel and electrical steel.

 

The uses of the main steel varieties are listed below:

 

1. Cold-rolled sheet: Cold-rolled sheet is a variety with a wide range of applications in home appliances, and is mainly used as the outer plate of household appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines and some air conditioners. At present, SPCC-SD cold-rolled plates are mainly used for general cold plates for household appliances, and the thickness range is concentrated in 0.4-0.7mm. The width of cold-rolled plates for refrigerators is below 1350mm; the width of steel plates for washing machines is up to 1540mm, and the width of hoarding plates for individual washing machines is up to 1700mm; the width of cold-rolled plates for freezers is between 720-820mm.

 

 

 

2. Galvanized sheet: Galvanized sheet is mainly used in household appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines and microwave ovens. Among them, hot-dip galvanized sheets are mainly used for products and parts such as outdoor units of air conditioners and refrigerators; electro-galvanized sheets are mainly used for high-end home appliances placed indoors, such as computers, microwave ovens, washing machines and air conditioners. The main specifications of galvanized sheet for household appliances are: thickness 0.20-3.5mm, width 700-2080mm.

 

 

 

3. Color-coated board: Color-coated board is used for some refrigerator door panels and microwave oven shells. In recent years, the scope of application of color-coated plates has also been expanding, such as expanding from refrigerator door panels to refrigerator side panels, fully automatic washing machines, microwave ovens, and electric water heaters.

 

 

4. Electrical steel plates: Electrical steel plates are widely used in products such as household appliances motors, air-conditioning compressors and refrigerator compressors. In recent years, the application proportion of frequency conversion technology in the home appliance industry has increased significantly. At the same time, energy conservation and emission reduction have been paid attention to, and further improvement of the energy efficiency of home appliances has become an inevitable trend. Inverter technology and high energy efficiency will increase the demand for high-grade electrical steel. For example, the demand for high-grade electrical steel for DC inverter air-conditioning compressors has increased, and ultra-efficient refrigerator compressors also require high-grade electrical steel.
